Finally! We managed to get around to this shoot and I’m so pleased that we did. Due to a series of complications, including poor weather, illness and unforeseen circumstance, the road to Jennie’s shoot has been a bumpy one. But last weekend, Jennie, Sherrie and I finally met up and got this show on the road.
Jennie keeps her gorgeous boy, Corkie, at a yard about half an hour from me, that I shot at last year, with Manja and Atlantic. However, where Manja’s shoot was in the beautiful evening sun, Jennie wasn’t quite so lucky and we had overcast skies with the threat of rain. Thankfully, it did stay mostly dry and we made the most of it.
Jennie chose to have a Mud to Make-Up Photoshoot, so we invited the fabulous Sherrie Warwick along to beautify Jennie, tailoring her hair and make-up to suit the three outfits that we’d chosen for Jennie and I think you’ll agree, she did a fab job. Jennie looks super glam in that gorgeous dress.
Corkie, Jennie’s coloured cob cross hasn’t been doing a whole lot recently, due to Jennie’s bad back, but he was an absolute gem to work with. He was very patient and willing and didn’t create a fuss at any point, even after we’d had him standing around for quite a while. What a cutie. And isn’t that just the face of a heartbreaker?
Jennie said that he’s just an absolute star and clearly has so much affection for her little horse. But she said that he has a trot that will bounce you straight out of the saddle and really takes some getting used to. Lol! Together, Corkie and Jennie have tried their hand at local dressage, amongst other things. And they seem like such a well suited partnership.
Thank you for having us, Jennie. For persevering with the shoot, even when it looked like the universe didn’t want it to go ahead and to both you and Corkie for being stand-up models. And of course, as always, thank you to Sherrie for making my clients look and feel like the VIPs they are!
