A little while back, Ava’s mummy, Carman contacted me and arranged two photoshoots. The first was this one, with Ava and the second was for her beautiful champion hack, which I can’t wait to do in the summer.
I don’t normally photograph children sans ponies, but on this occasion I made an exception and on Friday evening, I made my way over to Ava and Carman’s home for our shoot.
Ava is not quite two and she is just so adorable. She’s only just learnt to walk and she’s having so much fun with it. She toddles about all over the place, determined to do things on her own two feet.
She was fascinated by all of the flowers and blossom in the garden area that we chose for the shoot. And she spent most of the shoot picking up the pieces of fallen, pink blossom and delivering them into my lap, which totally melted my heart.
Although I’d never want to swap photographing horses for photographing children on a permanent basis, it is nice to do something different every now and then. And Ava, being so happy to wander around this little garden and explore, was the perfect model for my temporary dip into kid’s photography.
Carman, it was so lovely to meet you. Your girlie is a little doll and I had a great evening with you both. Thank you for having me.
