Chloe, Kinky & Mirri – Equine Photoshoot, Essex

AA Favourites2 (3)wo very different horses, in looks and in character. Chloe’s two horses are worlds apart in every way.

‘Kinky Boots’ (what a great name) definitely wasn’t my biggest fan. I’m pretty sure he thought posing was for girls, photoshoots were a waste of time and he’d have much rather been eating. But that’s ok, we won him around eventually and prised some beautiful smiles from him in the end. And when I say beautiful, seriously, he’s way too pretty to be a boy. Look at that cute little head and ears!

Chloe laughed as she recounted her first dressage test with Kinky. She says it pretty much ended up with her sitting on the tack box, close to tears, vowing to throw in the towel. Now, however, it’s a totally different story. “He loves to show off,” she tells me. “As soon as he sees the white boards, he knows what to do.” Although jumping is a different story. Whilst he really enjoys to jump, Chloe says that he is too brave for his own good and that can be a little scary. She told me this with a smile, though, and her affection for her quirky Warmblood is obvious.

Our next model was Mirri, aka. ‘Moo’, or Mirrival if we’re being formal. Lol. Chloe has had her chestnut mare, Mirri for seven years and Chloe’s mum, Gail tells me that the nineteen-year-old pony is a jumping machine and showing no signs of slowing down any time soon. Mirri just lives to jump.

In contrast to Kinky, Chloe says that dressage is absolutely not Mirri’s thing. She hates schooling, but would go showjumping or cross country all day long. And Chloe and Mirri clearly share so many memories, from pony club camp, to Hickstead, to the national championships and winning the Gosling Cup.

Lastly, Gail and Chloe wanted photographs of all four of their horses together, including Gail’s horse, Jack, and Chloe’s little pony, Harry. What a good looking bunch!
