Sofia, Dragon, Honeyboy & Flash – Equine Photoshoot, Suffolk

Sofia and I have been trying to arrange a photoshoot for over two years now. However, Sofia’s show diary keeps her extremely busy, the weather hasn’t been on our side and I’ve been booked up every time Sofia has been free.
However, on Wednesday morning, we finally got round to meeting up and getting some photographs of her stunning ponies!

It was such a pleasure to photograph Sofia’s three beautiful boys. Each one very different but all just gorgeous and so well mannered. It’s very clear that Sofia adores her ponies and has great relationships with each of them.

First up we had little Dragon. I loved his unusual chestnut coat and silver mane. This little chap was an absolute angel to handle and we were really able to have some fun with the poses, having Sofia sit and lie down in front of him.

Next up was Honeyboy. When we first spoke about arranging a shoot, it was for photographs of Sofia with her previous Dartmoor, the prolific Moortown Honeyman. Since then, Honeyman has moved on and retired to stud, so we had the next best thing to take his place; his part brother, Honeyboy! I was so smitten with this little guy. I love Dartmoors and Honeyboy just oozed presence and adored the camera. He was super affectionate and had a really cheeky personality.

Last but not least Sofia introduced me to her newbie, Flash. How gorgeous are his markings? This chap will certainly be easy to spot in the show ring. Everybody who knows me, knows that I’m a total sucker for a hairy coloured pony, so as soon as Sofia asked if we could take a few shots of her new boy, I jumped at the chance.

And to top it off, George, the Spaniel, got involved in the fun and games, too! What a great day at the office!
